FINISHING REQUIREMENTS - Contemporary Facade
This contemporary unit is uniquely suited for mid-wall installations with an
available self-finishing decorative contemporary Facade. The decorative
contemporary Facade is listed in the accessories sections of the Care And
Operations manual and consists of three elements that can be mixed and
matched for finishes to taste. This appliance, without the decorative con-

(use the framing dimensions as-is as shown in Figure 11 on Page 10),
but if the decorative contemporary Facade is to be installed, the unit must
be raised on a platform at least 18" high (greater than 28" recommended)
(refer to Figure 48).
Note: When raising the MLDVTCD appliance on a platform for mid-wall
installations, add the platform height to any of the framing dimensions
shown in Figure 11 on Page 10 and adjust the gas line dimensions shown
in Figure 13 o Page 11 upwards accordingly.
The decorative contemporary Facade's significant dimensions are shown
in Figure 48. The decorative contemporary Facade may be installed over
drywall that is butted directly against the sides of the fireplace, or non-
combustible wall finish materials, no more than 3/4" thick, that are placed
in front of the fireplace black painted face. DO NOT place the Facade over
combustible materials that are placed in front of the fireplace's black finished
face. Refer to the installation instructions that accompany the decorative
contemporary Facade for installation details.
