CARE AND UPKEEP OF YOUR
KENMORE DEHUMIDIFIER
WARNING: SHOCK OR INJURY HAZARD -
Before cleaning be sure to unplug power cord
from outlet. Handle the dehumidifier with care.
Watch out for sharp metal edges and fins on
the inner coil.
Cleaning Your Dehumidifier:
Always unplug the power cord before cleaning
the dehumidifier. Dust the grilles or louvers with
a soft brush or the dusting attachment of your
vacuum cleaner.
Every few weeks wash the inside of the moisture
pan with a sponge or soft cloth and a mild
detergent to prevent the growth of mold, mildew
and bacteria.
Once or twice each season, remove dust and
lint from the rear coils with a soft brush. On
models with Filter-back feature gently pry the
Filter-back from the sides of the cabinet to
expose the coils. Rinse the Filter-back in warm
water, dry thoroughly before replacing.
On units not so equipped, the filter-back may
be purchased through any Sears parts depart-
ment. Please quote part No. 3-70128-005.
To clean dehumidifier cabinet, use a damp
cloth. Dry with a soft cloth. Never use solvents,
cleaning fluids, abrasive cleaners or strong
detergents.
CAUTION: Do not wash nor allow water to
contact any electrical components. Don't plug
dehumidifier in until it is completely dry.
IMPORTANT
It is recommended to wait a minimum of 5 min-
utes before turning the unit on after the com-
pressor stops running. This time allows pres-
sure inside the unit to equalize and to cool
down or re-set of PTC relay for a full torque
start on the compressor.
