Drain Valve Washer
Replacement
NOT_ For replacem_t, use a _" x '_," • _" thick washer
available at your n_rest hardware store_ For ordering replace-
ment washers, re_ to the "Parts Order List" sec_on.
• Turn "OFF" gas supply to water heater.
• Follow "Draining" instructions.
Turning counter clockwise, remove the hex cap below the
screw handle.
Remove the washer and put the new one in place.
Screw the handle and cap assembly back into the drain valve
and tetighten using a wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Follow instructions in the _Filling The Water Heater"
section.
Check for leaks.
• Follow the lighting instructions in the "Lighting " section to
restart the water heater,

Vacuum around base of water heater for dust, dirt, and lint on a
basis.
&,WARNING
INSTALLED IN SUITABLE AREA: To insure suffi-
cient ventilation and combustion air supply, proper
clearances from the water heater must be main-
tained. See "Facts to Consider About the Location"
section. Combustible materials such as clothing,
cleaning materials, or flammable liquids, etc. must
not be placed against or adjacent to the water
heater which can cause a fire.

Guide of this manual.
