Corded Buttonholes (a variation of
the built-in buttonhole)
Corded buttonholes are a stronger variation
of the regular buttonhole. You need to obtain
filler cord (crotchet thread or buttonhole
twist).
1. Cut a length of cord about twice the length
of the buttonhole guide.
2. Fold the cord in half.
3. Hook the cord at its mid point on the spur
Of the guide.
4. Pull both ends of the cord forward under
the guide.
5. Sew your buttonhole so that the stitching
covers the cord.
6. When stitching is complete, release the
cord from the spur, pull the ends of the
cord and snip off the extra length.
