1. When cleaning the shell, use a soft damp cloth and no chemical cleansers.
2. Avoid vibration and impact.
3. Changing the Filter. Unplug the Air Cleaner from the electrical outlet. Remove the
Top Cover (1). Lift out the Filter Holder. The first layer is a Sponge Filter (2). (After
a period of time, this Filter can be washed with slightly soapy water. Be sure to dry
it completely before reinserting). The next layers are the Active Carbon Filter (3)
and HEPA Filter (4). Reverse instructions to replace the Filters. After the unit is
reassembled, plug the electrical cord back into the electrical outlet. Change the
HEPA Filter about once every 6 months.
(See Figures 4, 5, 6).
4. Ion Testing. With the Power ON, hold the
Ion Tester (8) on the area marked for your
thumb. Hold CLOSE (1 or 2 inches) to the
Ionizer (6)
.
The Light on the Ion Tester (8)
should shine, indicating that the Air Filter
is operating properly. Caution: Do not
insert the Ion Tester (8) into Ionizer. If the
light does not come on, replace the Ionizer
(6) or see a qualified repairman.
