h. Press CHECK again to display the system setting.
i. Press CHECK or RUN to return to the program.
Activating or Deactivating Keyboard Lockout
When the keyboard lockout is activated, the programs, time
and day, humidity and installer setup information cannot be
changed. However, hold, temporary settings and the system
setting can be changed. Use the following steps to check or
change the keyboard setting.
1. Press and hold RUN until OPEN KEY or LOCK KEY
show in the display (approximately three seconds). The
display returns to normal when RUN is no longer
pressed.
2. To change the setting, press RUN a second time until
the other display appears.
CHECKOUT
CAUTION
Do not operate the cooling system when outside
temperature is below 50°F (10°C). See compressor
manufacturer instructions for further information.
IMPORTANT
• W8900A-C must have ac power to perform self-test.
• Five-minute time delay on compressor does not
function during checkout.
Perform the following test as a check of all the W8900A-C
functions. If W8900A-C does not respond as indicated,
replace the W8900A-C.
Checkout is activated from the W8900A-C Remote Module.
The PC8900A Control Panel does not have to be connected
to use the checkout. If the PC8900A is connected, the
PC8900A displays Wait during checkout.
NOTE: The W8900A-C (and PC8900A, if connected),
returns to normal when the checkout is interrupted
for two minutes.
1. Start the checkout by disconnecting sensor wires from
S, S1, T and T1 (if attached).
2. Connect a jumper between S and S1 terminals.
3. Connect a jumper between T and T1 terminals.
4. Turn the power off and on. The LED should be on. Fol-
low the steps in Table 9 or 10.
NOTE: The sequence restarts after the last step in the
table.
5. After completing the steps in the table, remove the T to
T1 and S to S1 jumpers and reinstall the sensor wires (if
applicable). The W8900A-C LED blinks.

On conventional models with the O/B relay (changeover) populated, it is energized in the heating mode. The default mode for
power up is heat. If the installer test mode is cycled through cooling to all relays off with the intent of repeating the test, the O/B
relay is not energized until the first stage of heat is cycled on.
