Switch Components
The FC 16B switch consists of the following components:
• A 1U chassis, designed to be mounted in a 19-inch rack, with forced-air cooling that flows
from the power supply side of the switch to the SFP media side.
• 16 optical ports, compatible with SFPs (small form factor pluggable media).
• One RS-232 serial port (DB9 connector) on the SFP media side.
• One IEEE compliant RJ-45 connector on the SFP media side for use with 10/100 Mbps
Ethernet or in-band.
• Human-readable labels and bar code labels on the front and back.
• A total of 36 LEDs
• Two LEDs for each of the 16 ports to indicate port status and link speed information.
• One LED on each power supply to indicate the status of that power supply.
• One LED on the left of the SFP media side to indicate whether the switch has power.
• One LED in the center of the power supply side to indicate the overall switch status.
• Two universal input and redundant power supplies with AC switches and built-in fans. The
power supplies plug into internal blind-mate connectors when installed in the chassis.
