Troubleshooting
◗ Make sure you’re using the correct PostScript driver for
your printer (included on the EPSON Stylus RIP
CD-ROM).
◗ If you’re working with scanned images, check the scanner
software settings.
◗ Try cleaning the print head with the utilities provided with
your printer, then print a few lines to check your output.
See your printer documentation for instructions.
◗ Run the print head alignment utility using coated ink jet
paper. See your printer documentation for instructions.
You may want to use a loupe to check the alignment.
Solving Problems
Here are some detailed solutions to specific problems you may
have or error messages you may receive.
You see a Printer cannot be opened or Printer not found error
message (Macintosh)
Possible cause Solution
The printer is not
turned on.
Turn on the printer and try printing again.
The printer is not
correctly connected
to the Stylus RIP
standalone or server
Macintosh.
Make sure the printer connection is secure at both
ends of the cable. Also make sure the cable is not
defective and it meets the specifications for your
printer. See your printer documentation for more
information.
You’re using an
optional EtherTalk
interface card and
named the printer
incorrectly.
Check the instructions in Chapter 1 to make sure
you named the printer correctly.
