ransmissions and unwanted noiseresulting from
terrain, conditions,or fromreaching your
maximum range limit.
Youcan temporarily turn OffAuto Squelchor turn
On Maximum RangeExtender, allowing allsignals
to bereceived andextending themaximum range
of yourradio.
To Temporarily Turn Off Auto Squelch:
Pressthe LIGHT/MAX RANGEbutton forless
than five (5) seconds.
Ifyou heartwo(2) beeps,
you have turned the
Maximum Range Extender On
(see below).
Channels
With theradio ON,select any
of the 8channels bypushing
the CHANNEL UPor CHANNEL
DOWN button.
Youcan press andhold the
CHANNEL UPor CHANNEL
DOWN buttonfor fastadvance.
NOTE:Both radios mustbe
tuned tothe same
channel andprivacy
code (see “CTCSS PrivacyCodes” or “DCS
Privacy Codes”) tocommunicate.
Lock Function
The LOCK button locksthe CHANNEL UP, CHANNEL
DOWN, and MODE/POWER buttonsto prevent
accidental operation.
To Use the LockFunction:
Pressand hold theLOCK
button fortwo (2)seconds
to turnthe LockOn or Off.
A doublebeep soundis usedto
confirm yourLock Onor Off
request. Whenthe radiois in
Lock Mode, theLock iconwill
be displayed.
To Turn Maximum Range Extender On:
Pressand hold the LIGHT/MAX RANGEbutton
for at least five(5) seconds untilyou heartwo
(2) beeps, indicating thatthe Maximum Range
Extender is On.
To Turn Maximum Range Extender Off:
Pressand release theLIGHT/MAX RANGE
button orchange channels.

Buildings and foliage inthe

maximum range byusing
