Press ENTER/DISPLAY. Each press changes the on-screen
function display as follows:
Three presses
All indicators are turned off.
One press
Two presses
After 3 seconds
Press ENTER.
After 3 seconds
Press ENTER.
Press ENTER.
Notes
• The tape counter and the remaining tape length indicator
appear only when a cassette is inserted. Also, the remaining
tape length indicator appears after any tape operation.
• The remaining tape length indicator may not be displayed
correctly depending on the condition of the tape. There may
be errors within plus or minus 2 minutes in SP mode and 6
minutes in EP mode.

To turn the on-screen display off
Caution
When you record a video signal output from this VCR onto
another VCR,
turn off the on-screen display. Otherwise, the
indicators displayed on the TV screen will be recorded on
the tape.
Before starting
Set the VCR/CATV/DBS/TV selector to VCR.
Press MENU.
Press i or k to select SETUP, then press
ENTER/DISPLAY.
Press i or k to select FUNCTION OSD.
Press j or l to display OFF.
Press MENU to return to the normal screen.
Tips
• Even if you set FUNCTION OSD to OFF, you can check the
clock, tape counter and the remaining tape length in the
display window by pressing ENTER/DISPLAY repeatedly.
• Even if you set FUNCTION OSD to OFF, the indications of
Zero Return, VISS and REC. End Search appears on the TV
screen.
