2.01 Curtain
A. Curtainwill becomposedofinterlocking#14 flatslats
[22,20,18 gaugegalvanizedsteel] [16B&Saluminum]
[22,20stainlesssteel] slats with [24gauge][22gauge
B&Saluminum] back slats,roll-formedperASTM
standards.Theareabetween the#14exteriorslat
andtheback slat willbefilled bypolyurethane
insulation,R-value of6.7 (U=0.15).Curtain designed
towithstand a20PSFwindload. Ends of
alternate/continuous slatswill befittedwithmetal
endlocks/windlocks.
B. BottomBarwillconsist oftwo equalsteel
[stainless steel][aluminum] angles,.121"minimum
thickness,tostiffencurtain,withastragal. When
requiredforadditionalsecurity,provide[slidebolts]
[cylinderlocks] onthe bottombaroperablefrom
[coilside][bothsides].
2.02 Guides
A. Guideswill beroll-formedsteelchannel boltedto
angleorstructural grade,three angleassembly of
steel[stainless steel][aluminum]toforma slotof
sufficient depthtoretain curtainsinguidestoachieve
20PSFwindloadstandard.Guidesmaybeprovided
withintegralwindlockbars andremovablebottom
barstops.
2.03 Brackets
A. Bracketswillbeof3/16”[1/4"] minimum thicksteel
plates,withpermanentlysealed ball bearings.Designed
toencloseends ofcoilandprovidesupportfor
counterbalancepipe ateachend.
2.04 Counterbalance
A. Curtaintobecoiled onapipe ofsufficient sizeto
carry door load with deflection nottoexceed.033"
perfootofdoor spanand tobecorrectly balancedby
helical springs,oil temperedtorsion type.Castiron
barrel plugswillbeused toanchor springstotension
shaftandpipe.
2.05 Hood
A. Hood will beminimum24-gauge[aluminum,
22gaugeB&S][galvanized][stainless steel]sheet
metal,flanged attopfor attachmenttoheaderand
flanged atbottomtoprovidelongitudinal stiffness.
Hoodwill enclose curtaincoil andcounterbalance
mechanism. A flexible hoodbaffle isincluded.
2.06 Finish
A. Shop coat ofrust inhibitive primer onnon-galvanized
surfacesandoperating mechanisms.Guides and
bracketplateswillbecoatedwithaflatblackprime
paint. Aluminumfinishtobe[mill][204R1clear
anodized][bronzeanodized].Stainlesssteelfinish
available.Curtain colorwill be[white][blue] [gray]
[beige] [brown](white,blue,beige,brownonly
availableas22gauge).Powdercoating isavailable in
180colors.
2.07 Operation
A. Door will beoperatedbymeans of[manual,lift-up]
[chainhoistwithgeardrivereduction] [awningcrank]
[wallcrankbox][motoroperation].Optional
[electrical][pneumatic]sensingedgetobeattachedto
bottombar to[stopandreverse] the door
whenitcontactsanobjectduring theclosing cycle.
2.08 Weatherstripping
A. Doorswillincludebottom astragal,surface guide
weatherstrip,andinternalhood baffleweatherstrip.
Optionallintelbrushweatherstrip available.
2.09 Locking
A. [Manuallift-updoorswill haveinteriorslide-bolts
suitablefor padlocksbyothers.] [Chain-hoistdoor
willhavechainkeepers suitablefor padlocksby
others.][Electric-motoroperation doors will lock
throughthe operatorgearing.][Cylinderlockscan

Note: Whenspecifying locksonelectric-motoroperated
doors,electricinterlocksshould alsobespecified to
preventoperationwhen lock bolts are engaged inthe
guides,thuspreventingdamagetothe curtain
and/oroperator.
2.10 Windload

andasrequiredbylocalcodes.
PARTIII–EXECUTION
3.01 Installation
A. General:
1. Installdoorsinaccordance with manufacturer’s
instructionsand standards.Installation shall beby
anauthorizedWayne-Dalton representative.
2. Verify that existingconditionsare readytoreceive
rolling door work.
3. Beginningofrollingdoor work meansacceptance
ofexistingconditions.
B. Install doorcompletewithnecessaryhardware,jamb
andheadmoldstrips,anchors,inserts,hangers,and
equipmentsupportsinaccordance withfinalshop
drawings,manufacturer’sinstructions,and asspecified
herein.
C. Fit,align andadjust rollingdoorassembliesleveland
plumbfor smooth operation.
D. Upon completionoffinalinstallation,lubricate,testand
adjustdoorstooperate easily,freefromwarp,twistor
distortionand fittingfor entireperimeter.
Note: Architectmayconsiderprovidingaschedulewhen
more thanonerollingdoororopening type is
required.
