PARTII– PRODUCTS
2.01 Manufacturer

200-20 insulated sectional overhead doors of steel

this section and

Hope,Ohio.
2.02 Materials
A. Door Sections:Shall be ofsteel/polyurethane/steel
sandwich typeconstruction withthermalbreak and
calculated materials“R”- value of 17.50,inaccordance
with industry guidelines.
1. ExteriorSkin:Structural quality,hot-dipped galvanized
steel,20gaugewhiteflushsmooth.
2. InteriorSkin:Structuralquality,hot-dipped,galvanized
steel,factoryfinishedwith apolyesterprimer and
white finish coat.Interior skin shallhavetwo1

ribcaps per section.
3. Endsofsection shall be sealed with18or 16
[14GA.] gauge hot-dippedgalvanizedsteelfull
heightend caps.
4. Insulation:Cavity shall be filled withfoamed-in-place
CFCfree polyurethanecore separated by afactory
extruded thermalbreak.
5. Insulated sections shall betested byanI.C.B.O.
certified laboratoryinaccordance withASTM E-84-
91A andshall achieveaFlamespreadIndexof 10or
less,andaSmokeDevelopedIndexof210orless.
6. Insulationmaterialshallbetested by an I.C.B.O.
certified laboratoryinaccordance withASTM
D-1929and shallachieve aminimum FlashIgnition
temperature of 734 degreesF,and aminimum Self
Ignition temperatureof950 degrees F.
7. Insulated sections shall betested and meetall
requirements of the UBC 17-5corner burn.
B. Track:Trackdesign shall be [standard lift] [highlift]
[verticallift][low
headroom].Verticalmounting angles
shall be hot-dipped
galvanized.Track size shall be [2"]
[3"].Vertical track shall begraduated
to provide wedge
type weathertight closingwithcontinuousanglemounting

with continuous angle of adequatelength and gauge to
minimize deflection.

C. Hardware:Hingeand RollerAssembly:
1. Hinges andbrackets shall bemadefrom
hot-dippedgalvanized steel.
2. Track rollers shall be case-hardened inner steel
races with10-ball [2"] [3"] rollers.
3. All factoryauthorizedattachmentsshall bemadeat
locationsindicated andreinforced withbackupplates.
D. Counterbalance:
1. Springsshallbetorsion type,low-stress,helical
wound,oil-tempered springwire to provide
minimum [25,000 standard] [50,000] [100,000]
cyclesofuse,oncontinuous steel [solid].
2. Spring fittings and drums madeofdie cast,high
strength aluminum.
3. Pre-formed galvanizedsteelaircraft cable shall
provide aminimum ofa 5:1safetyfactor.
2.03 Operation
A. Operationshallbe[manual push-up] [chain hoist]
[motor] [motor withchainhoist].Manufacturerdoes
notrecommendchainhoists orjack shaft operators
on the following trackapplications.
•15" radius standardlift with roof pitchless than 2:12
•Hi-lift lessthan 24"
•Hi-liftbetween12" –23"withroofpitch less than 1:12
•Low headroom track
Special chainhoistassemblies (using atrolleyrail)
are available for the abovetracksystems.
2.04 Locks
A. Locks shall engage theright-handverticaltrackand
utilize [an interior side lock] [standard sizerim cylin-
der].
2.05 Weatherstripping
A. Doors shall be equipped with top and side seals
to seal against header, co-polymer
joint seals between sections, and vinyl “bulb”
shaped astragal provided on the bottom
section.
2.06 Glazing
A. Optional.
2.07 Windload
A. Windload –per DASMA 102-2003 and as required by
local codes.
PARTIII EXECUTION
3.01 Installation
A. General:
1. Installdoorsinaccordance with
manufacturer’sinstructionsand standards.
Installationshallbeby an authorized
Wayne-Dalton representative.
2. Verifythat existing conditionsareready to receive
sectionaloverheaddoor work.
3. Beginning of sectional overheaddoor work means
acceptance ofexistingconditions.
B.
Install door complete withnecessary hardware,jamb
andhead moldstrips,
anchors,inserts,
hangers,and equipment supports in accordancewith
final shopdrawings,manufacturer’s
instructions,and asspecified herein.
C. Fit,alignand adjust sectional overheaddoor assemblies
level and plumbfor smooth operation.
D. Upon completionof final installation,lubricate,test and
adjustdoorstooperate easily,free fromwarp,twistor
distortion and fitting for entire perimeter.
Note:Architectmayconsider providing a
schedule whenmore thanone sectional
overhead door or openingtype is required.
