Polarization Instructions
This heater must be grounded. If it should
malfunction or break down, grounding provides
a path of least resistance for the electric current
to reduce the risk of electric shock. This heater
is equipped with a cord having an equipment-
grounding conductor and grounding plug.
The plug must be plugged into an appropriate
outlet that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
This heater is for use on a 120-volt circuit and has a ground plug
(see illustration). Make sure the heater is connected to an outlet having the same
conguration as the plug. No adapter should be used with this heater.
WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in
the risk of electric shock. Check with a qualied electrician or service person if you are in
doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with
the heater – if it will not t the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualied electrician.

The Riccar SummerBreeze Heater has safeguards to protect the heater from overheating.
Here are a few ways the heater warms your home safely:
• Enclosed heating element prevents the heat from creating hot external areas.
• Thermal fuses shut the element off if dangerously high temperatures are reached.
• Tip-over switch shuts off the element if the heater is tilted. The power resets when the
heater is returned to operating position.
• Circuit breaker protects against potential electrical safety conditions.
