1) Rated average life is the length of operation (in hours)at which point an average of 50% of a largesample of lamps will still be operationaland 50% will not.
2)Average lifeunder specified test conditions with lamps turned off and restarted no morefrequently thanonce every3 operating hours.
Lamp lifeis appreciably longerif lamps are started lessfrequently.
3)Average life under engineering data with lamps turnedoff and restartedonce every12 operating hours.
4) Approximateinitial lumens.The lamp lumen output is based upon lampperformanceafter 100 hoursof operating life,when the output is measured during operationon a reference ballast under
standard laboratoryconditions.
5) For expectedlamp lumen output,commercial ballast manuufacturers can advise the appropriateballast factor for each of their ballasts when they are informed of the designated lamp.The ballast factor
is a multiplierapplied to the designated lamp lumen output.
6) Design lumens arethe approximate lamp lumen output at 40% of the lamp’srated average life.Thisoutput is based upon measurements obtained during lamp operationon a reference ballast under
standard laboratoryconditions.
