INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new apparatus, please read this user guide carefully
before using it for the rst time. We also recommend that you keep the instructions
for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your
apparatus.
SAFETY MEASURES
• Incorrect use of this apparatus may cause personal injury and damage.
• Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any
injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee
Terms).
• For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or commercial use.
• For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only. The appliance must be earthed.
• The apparatus, cord or plug must not be placed in water or any other liquid.
• Never touch the apparatus, cord or plug with wet or damp hands.
• Never leave the apparatus unattended when it is switched on.
• Keep children under supervision when in use.
• Keep the cord and apparatus away from heat sources, hot objects and naked
ames.
• Switch off and unplug it when not in use, before you clean the dust lter or
change the dust bag or clean the air lter.
o Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold
the plug.
o Keep hold of the plug when rewinding the cord, so that it does not strike the
appliance.
• Never use the appliance unless it has a dust container, motor lter and air lter
tted.
• Only use accessories manufactured or recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not use it on wet surfaces.
• Take particular care when vacuuming stairs, due to the risk of falling.
• Do not use the kit to vacuum up matches, hot ashes, cigarette butts, hard or
sharp objects, wet or damp substances, combustible materials (petrol, solvents,
etc.) or vapour from these.
• Do not use to vacuum ne sand or dust – e.g. plaster, brick dust and the like.
• Do not cover the appliance’s suction or exhaust port.
• Ensure that you keep clothing, hair and body parts away from the nozzle and
moving parts of the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug are damaged, if it is not functioning
properly, or if it has been damaged by a heavy impact or similar.
• If the appliance or plug is damaged, it must be inspected and if necessary,
repaired by an authorised repair engineer, otherwise there is a risk of electric
shock. Never try to repair the apparatus yourself. Please contact the store where
you bought the appliance for repairs under guarantee. Unauthorised repairs or
modications to the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.

PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
• Check that a motor lter is in place (refer to Replacing lters and emptying dust
containers below).
• Check that an exhaust lter (b) is in place (3) (refer to Replacing lters and
emptying dust containers below).
• Check that the dust container (8) and the permanent lter (9) are correctly
assembled (refer to Replacing lters and emptying dust containers below).
• Fit the dust container.
o Turn the dust container so that the lock button (7) on the handle faces the
appliance.
o Insert the front of the dust container into the slot on the bottom of the
appliance, and press the handle down until the dust container clicks into
place.
o To remove the dust container, press the lock button on the handle and lift the
remove the container from the appliance.
• Fit the hose (20) by inserting the hose coupling (19) into the hose port (10) found
on the base of the front of the appliance. The hose couping dowels (18) must t
in the slots in the rim of the port. Turn the hose coupling clockwise until it locks
into place.
o To remove the hose, turn the hose connector anticlockwise and pull it out.
• Attach the handle (21) to one end of the telescopic tube (15), and attach the
required nozzle (11, 13 or 14) to the opposite end of the tube.
