To get the best out of your new appliance, please read this user guide carefully

for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your
appliance.
SAFETY MEASURES
General
• Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal injury and damage to the
appliance.
• Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any
injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee
Terms).
• For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only. The appliance must be earthed.
• For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or commercial use.
• The appliance, cord or plug must not be placed in water or any other liquid.
• Never touch the appliance, cord or plug with wet or damp hands.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
• Keep children under supervision when in use.
• Donotuseiftheexhaustlter(HEPAlter)motorlteranddustbagarenot
tted,asthiscoulddamagetheappliance.
• Only use accessories manufactured or recommended by the manufacturer.
Use
• Do not use it on wet surfaces.
• Take particular care when vacuuming stairs, due to the risk of falling.
• Do not use to vacuum up matches, hot ashes, cigarette butts, hard or sharp
objects, wet or damp substances, combustible materials (petrol, solvents, etc.)
or vapour from these.
• Donotusetovacuumnesandordust–e.g.plaster,brickdustandthelike.
• Ensure that you keep clothing, hair and body parts away from the nozzle and
moving parts of the appliance.
• Do not cover the appliance’s suction or exhaust port.
Cord and plug
• Keep the cord and appliance away from heat sources, hot objects and naked
ames.
• Switch the appliance off and unplug it when it is not in use, and before you
changethedustbagandcleanorreplacethelters.
o Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold
the plug.
oHoldtheplugrmlywhilereelingthecordintoavoidithittingtheappliance
or other nearby objects.
• Check regularly that neither cord nor plug is damaged and do not use if they are,
or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
• If the appliance, cord or plug have been damaged, have them inspected and
if necessary repaired by an authorised repair engineer. Never try to repair the
appliance yourself. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for
repairsunderguarantee.Unauthorisedrepairsormodicationstotheappliance
will invalidate the guarantee.
Batteries
• Check plus and minus poles are correctly aligned since incorrectly inserted
batteries may damage the appliance.
• Remove the batteries from the handle, if the appliance is not to be used for a
prolonged period.
• Always replace both batteries at the same time.
• Never mix different types of battery (e.g. manganese dioxide batteries and
alkaline batteries), old and new batteries or different makes of batteries.

PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
IMPORTANT!Checkexhaustlter(d)iscorrectlyttedbeforeuse.Opendustbag
compartmenttocheckmotorlteranddustbagarecorrectlytted(seeReplacing
lteranddustbagbelow).
• The remote control in the handle (16) uses 2 AAA batteries.
o Remove the cover to the battery compartment (17) by depressing the lock
dowel, lifting off the cover and place batteries.
o Check plus and minus poles are correctly aligned since incorrectly inserted
batteriesmaydamagetheappliance.Seethe+and–symbolsinthebattery
compartment.
o Click the battery cover back into place.
• Fit the hose (18) by inserting it into the hose connector (3) so that the dowels
(22) click into place and the hose is securely attached.
• Fit telescopic tube (14) at opposite end of hose. Adjust the length of the
telescopic tube by pushing the lock button (13) in the direction of the arrows and
pulling or pushing the lower section of the tube.
• Fit the nozzle required (19 or 21) to the telescopic tube.
USE
• Pull the cord (11) out of the appliance. The cord may not be pulled out further
than the red mark. Plug in and switch on the power.
• Press the on/off button (7) to start and stop the appliance.
• Suction is regulated using the control buttons (15) on the handle:
oPressthebutton“+”(i)or“-“(j)toincreaseordecreasesuction.
o Press the button Max (h) to switch to max suction.
o You can start and stop cleaning during use with the start/stop button (k). A
red diode in the remote control port (6) lights up when the appliance is
stopped.
• Theoornozzle(19)bristleshavetwosettings,whichcanbeselectedusingthe
brush function buttons (20) on top of the nozzle.
oWhencleaninghardsurfaces(stone-orwoodenooring,etc.),thenozzle
brushes should be extended.
o When cleaning carpets and rugs, the brushes should be retracted into the
nozzle.
• The bag change indicator (4) will normally be green. If it changes to red when the
vacuumcleanerisinuse,orifsuctionstrengthissignicantlyreduced,thedust
bagneedschanging(refertoReplacingltersanddustbagbelow).
• IMPORTANT! If the suction strength of the appliance is reduced, the nozzle or
hosemaybeblocked,ltersmaybeblockedordirtyandthedustbagmaybe
full. Never use the appliance if this is the case, as this will damage the motor
irreparably.Immediatelyremovethecauseoftheblockage,cleantheltersor
replace dust bag.
• IMPORTANT! The transmitter (g) in the handle and the remote control port on the
appliance must not be covered, since this will prevent the signal from reaching
its destination.
