CLEANING/MAINTENANCE
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be taken including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this appliance.
2. Use fan only for purposes described in the instruction
manual.
3. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse
unit, plug or cord in water or spray with liquids and
plug the appliance directly into a electrical outlet.
4. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical
shock, DO NOT use this fan with any solid-state speed
control device.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is
used by or near children.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use, when moving
fan from one location to another, before putting on
or taking off parts and before cleaning.
7. Avoid contact with moving parts.
8. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or
flammable fumes.
9. To avoid fire hazard, NEVER place the cord under
rugs or any parts near an open flame, cooking or
other heating appliance.
10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord
or plug after the appliance malfunctions, or has been
dropped/damaged in any manner.
11. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by
the appliance manufacturer may cause hazards.
12. Do not use outdoors.
13. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table,
counter or come in contact with hot surfaces or leave
exposed to high traffic areas.
14. To disconnect, grip plug and pull from wall outlet.
Never yank on cord.
15. Always use on a dry, level surface.
16. Do not operate fan until fully assembled with all
parts properly in place.
17. This product is intended for household use ONLY and
not for commercial or industrial applications.
18. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock

window.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Tools required: One Phillips head screw driver.
Assembly time: 10-15 minutes.
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL CONTENTS OF THE
PACKAGE. PLEASE CHECK PACKAGING MATERIALS FOR
PARTS THAT COULD BE REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE YOUR
FAN.
1. Remove the base weight and nut from the bottom of
the fan base. Unscrew the nut and remove the
plastic plug from the hole of the base to
remove the base weight.
2. Insert Lower Pole through the hole in the center of
Base and twist clockwise into position. Be sure to
align the grooves on the threaded joint with the
raised slots protruding from the base center walls.
(See Figure 1)
3. Turn the Base upside down (pole facing the floor)
and place the Weight over the threaded pole end.
The threads will be exposed as they protrude through
the weight.
4. Secure the Weight to the Base by tightening the
Weight Nut in a clockwise direction.
NOTE: DO NOT use a tool to tighten the Base Nut.
5. Insert the remaining Pole with the Threaded Joint
into the Hollow End of the Pole connected to the Base
and twist clockwise to secure.
6. Place Motor Housing assembly onto the Upper Pole.
7. Position the Rear Grill over the Motor Shaft, making
certain the 2 notches at the top and bottom of the
Rear Grill fit over the 2 prongs on the Motor
Housing. Secure the Rear Grill in place with the Rear
Grill Mounting Nut. Turn Mounting Nut clockwise and
tighten firmly.
8. Slide the Fan Blade, with the hollowed interior of the
Blade facing toward the Rear Grill, firmly onto the
Motor Shaft. Secure the Fan Blade onto the Motor
Shaft by turning the Blade Cap counter-clockwise and
tighten firmly.
9. Center the Front Grill by aligning the Holmes
®
logo
horizontally and parallel to the floor, and then place
into the Rear Grill. Snap the Front and Rear Grills
completely together. Tighten the Grill Screw at the
bottom of the Rear Grill.
10. Insert Decorative Oscillation Cap into Oscillation Knob
located on top of Motor Housing Assembly. Refer to
letter I in Figure 1 for placement.
NOTE: If Logo Plate is not already assembled to
Front Grill, you must attach it by aligning the slots
located on the back side of the Logo Plate with the
notches in the grill center. Press firmly into place.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Set fan on a dry, level surface.
2. Plug cord into any standard 120 volt AC outlet.
Please make sure the Speed Control Knob is in the
off position.
3. Turn the Speed Control Knob located on the back of
the Motor Housing Assembly to select your desired
speed. O-Off, III=High, II=Medium, I=Low.
OSCILLATION
The Oscillation control knob ( ) is located on the top
of the Fan Motor Housing. To start Oscillation, push
control knob down. To stop Oscillation, pull control knob
up.
ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Fan Head Tilt-Adjustment
1. To change the tilting angle of the Fan Head, simply
loosen the Tilt-Adjustment Knob.
2. Move the Fan Head to the desired angle and firmly
tighten the Tilt-Adjustment Knob to lock into place.
Reduced Height Adjustment
3. Remove the Lower Extension Pole for reduced height.
CLEANING/MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these instructions to correctly and safely care for
your fan. Please remember:
Always unplug the fan before cleaning.
Do not allow water to drip on or enter into fan
housing.
Be sure to use a soft cloth moistened with a mild
soap solution.
Do not use any of the following as a cleaner:
gasoline, thinner, or benzene.
Fan Cleaning
Clean the Fan Grill, Housing, Fan Blade and Base with a
soft, damp cloth. Please use caution around the Motor
Housing area. Do not allow the motor or other electrical
components to be exposed to water.
To access the blade, remove the front grill from the fan
head. Clean the blade with a soft, damp cloth. Make sure
that the front grill is secured to the fan head prior to
beginning operation again.
FAN STORAGE
When storing your fan in the off season, it is important
to keep it in a safe dry location. It is important to protect
the fan head from dust. We strongly recommend using
the original box from purchase.
THIS APPLIANCE HAS A POLARIZED PLUG (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician to install the proper outlet.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THIS PLUG OR DEFEAT THIS
SAFETY FEATURE IN ANY WAY.
