To start unit
If your airconditioner is installed and plugged into a proper re cep ta cle, it is
readytogo.Thefirsttimetheunitisstarted,thecompressorwilldelayforthree
minutes. See Automatic Component Protection onthe following page.

TouchthePowerbuttononce.Theunitwillautomaticallybein Cool
mode with the temperature set at75°F(24°C) andthe fan speed at
F1, the sleep setting.
To set mode of operation
When you
rst turn the unit on, it will be in the Cool mode (light on), with
constant fan.

TouchtheModebutton onceto activatetheMoneySaver
®
(lighton).
MoneySaver
®
is a feature that cycles the fan with the com pres sor
so that the fan does not run all the time. This saves energy and
ca tion.Or you may prefercon stantfan formore
improvesde hu mid i
air move ment (to return to constant fan, touch the Mode button two
more times).
In order torun thefan by itself,do the following:

once toactivate theFANONLY feature (light on).
The FANONLY setting will circulate airin the room without thecom-
pressor comingon.
To adjust temperature

Use the Mode button to select either the COOL or MoneySaver
®
function

COOLER –Touch the button tolower the room air temperature.

WARMER –Touch the button toraise the roomair temperature.

Press both the and buttons at the same time to switch the
temperature readout fromFahrenheit (°F) to Celsius (°C).
Repeatstep 7 to switch from°C back to °F.
To adjust fan speed

TouchtheFanSpeedbuttontoseethecurrentsetting. Touchitagain
tochangespeed. F1isthelowestsetting(SLEEPSETTING/LOW),
F2 is MEDIUM, and F3 isHIGH.
To activate Smart Fan

There is a fourth option, SF, when selecting the fan speed. This is
the SMART FAN function. SMART FAN DOES NOT OPERATE IN
CONJUCTION WITH THEFAN ONLY MODE.
Smart Fan will adjust the fan speed automatically to maintain the
desiredcomfortlevel. Forexample,iftheoutsidedoorsinyourhome
are opened for an extended period of time, or more people enter a
room, Smart Fan may adjust to a higher fan speed to compensate
forthe increasedheatload.This keepsyoufrom havingtoadjust the
fan speedon your own.

To set the hour clock

Touch the Set Hour button to see the current setting (clock light
comes on). The number that is displayed is the approximate time
(houronly). Usethe and buttonsto changethe settings. BE
SURE TO SET A.M. AND P.M. ACCORDINGLY. (P.M. is indicated
by ared lightin the upper left corner of the display).
To set the timer
NOTE: SettheHOURCLOCKbeforeattemptingtosettimerfunctions.
You cansettheSTARTand STOP timesa minimumof one hour apart, and
a maximum of twenty-threehours apart.

After setting the time, press the Set Hour button once (Start light
comes on). Use the
and buttons to select the time that the
unit will START.

AfterselectingtheSTARTtime,presstheSetHourbuttononcemore
(Stoplightcomeson). Usethe
and buttonstoselectthetime
that the unit will STOP. After selecting the stopping time, press the
Set Hour button once.

Press the Timer On/Off button (light turns on) to activate the timer
function. To deactivate this function, press theTimer On/Off button
once again (light turns off). Once the on and off times have been
selected,theywillremain in memory andcycle dailyuntil changed.
NOTE: Iftheunitisunpluggedorthepowerisinterrupted,theHOUR
mustbe reset or theTimer On/Off will notfunctionwhen desired.
Automatic component protection
Your unitisequippedwith AutomaticComponentProtection. Toprotectthe
compressoroftheunit,thereisathreeminutestartdelayifyouturntheunit
offorifpowerisinterrupted.Thefanoperationwillnotbeaffected.Also,ifyou
switch from Coolmode toFan Only, and switch back toCool mode,there
is athree minute delay before the compressor comes backon.
