Essick Air 127-001 Air Cleaner User Manual

To Replace HEPA Filter
Perform the test above to determine if the HEPA Filter needs replacing.
Unplug unit.
Place air purifier on its back, on a protective surface.
Locate the removable filter compartment door on the bottom of the air
cleaner.
Slide the cover upward toward the front grille, then pull outward to
remove.
Pulling on the filter tab, slide both the HEPA Filter and black Pre-Filter
completely out of the air purifier. Position the new filter with the tab
reading, "This Side Up". Replace the black Pre-Filter back on top of the
HEPA Filter and slide both filters into the air purifier until they stop. If
you do not have the correct side of the HEPA filter facing
upward, the compartment door will not close.
Slide the filter compartment door back into position. Press down and
lock into place.
HEPA media is fragile. Do not puncture, crush or touch the pleated HEPA
paper. Handle the filter by its frame and/or tabs.

Troubleshooting
1. Unit does not operate at any speed setting:
a. Polarized cord must be fully inserted in wall outlet.
b. Check the air flow path. Are there any obstructions preventing move-
ment of the fan blade?
c. Has the poly bag been removed from the air filter? Is it properly
installed?
d. The motor contains a temperature-sensing fuse. If the motor becomes
overheated, the motor will automatically shut off until it cools. If the
condition persists, unplug the unit and contact the nearest authorized
service station. DO NOT ATTEMPT to repair the motor yourself.
2. The air does not seem to be any cleaner:
This air purifier removes airborne particulates which are, in some cases,
too small to be seen by the naked eye. Verify the filter is installed prop-
erly and the motor is turning the fan blade. If so, the air is being
cleaned.
