• DESCRIPTION
The Edelbrock aluminum water pump #8866 is a heavy duty
water pump for both street and racing applications. The pump is
a direct replacement for the original equipment pump (Ford
#F1TZ 8501-A) to provide compatibility with all accessories
and pulleys. It offers weight savings along with increased dura-
bility and cooling potential. #8866 is a standard rotation water
pump for 429 and 460 engines. Polished Aluminum Water
Pump #8876 fits the same applications as #8866.
• INSTALLATION
Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
This pump is designed to work with the original equipment
backplate. If new backplate is desired, use Ford #C85Z-8508A.
Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary.
CAUTION: Be sure that fan bolts don't protrude through the
hub so far that they hit the water pump housing.
• SPECIAL NOTES:
Check closely for any interference with drive belts; some filing
for clearance may be necessary with some applications.

Dimension from flange surface to hub:
#8866— 5.50"
