Dometic Battery-powered HVAC For Day Cabs Air Conditioner User Manual

NO FUEL. NO EMISSIONS. NO NOISE.
JUST CLEAN, QUIET COMFORT.
Dometic's battery-powered day cab HVAC solution is
designed to meet the unique requirements of class 5, 6,
7 and 8 trucks on short-haul routes. It provides a
maximum of 2 hours of cooling without running the
truck's engine. The system uses a bank of Group 31
absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries, which replaces the
truck’s existing batteries. It consumes no fuel and emits
no exhaust fumes. The system’s 2,000-watt inverter
converts the 12-volt output from the batteries into
115-volt AC power to run the air conditioner. The
inverter has been specially engineered to meet the
demanding power requirements of the air conditioner.
The high-capacity alternator/regulator recharges
batteries quickly on short runs between stops and keeps
them fully charged when the engine is running. The
7,000-BTU air conditioning system consists of a
compressor/evaporator/blower unit that fits between the
seats inside the cab and a ruggedized condensing unit
that mounts outside of the truck either behind the cab
or under the truck. The inside and outside units are
connected by flexible refrigerant linesets with reusable
quick-connect fittings. The system is precharged with
refrigerant at the factory, so that all components charge
automatically to the correct pressures when the
linesets are connected. No additional charging is
needed, and no special tools are required for
installation.
Dometic Corporation has more than 45 years
experience in engineering and building air conditioning
systems for harsh mobile environments. Dometic backs
its products with the industry’s best factory support and
service.
Compressor/evaporator/blower unit with molded composite
cover fits between seats, discharges cool air toward driver,
connected by flexible refrigerant linesets to condenser unit on
back of cab or under truck. Digital control mounts on top of
unit for easy driver access.
Integrated turnkey system includes Group 31 AGM batteries,
inverter, high-capacity alternator/regulator,
compressor/evaporator/blower unit inside cab, external
condenser unit, connecting refrigerant linesets and optional
shorepower plug.

Alternator: Leece Neville 270 Amp
alternator/regulator
Inverter converts 12 VDC output from AGM 31 batteries
into 115 VAC to drive air conditioner. Alternator recharges
batteries quickly and keeps them fully charged when engine is
running. When used with optional shorepower connection,
inverter/charger unit passes 115 VAC directly through to air
conditioner and also sends charging current to batteries.
Notes:
1. 115 VACflows directly to the air conditioner from an optional shorepower plug
via a pass-through circuit in the inverter.
2. With optional inverter/charger combination, unit batteries are charged when
shorepower is connected.
