sealingcorrectly,
b)thethermostatonthefireis
workingcorrectly,
c)asuitablefuelisbeingused,
d)thefireisnotfittedontoaheating
systemwhichistoolarge.
Donotlightthefireifthereisany
possibilitythatanypartsofthesystem
maybefrozen.
Checkthat:
a)thefireisburningproperly-ifnot
thencarryoutthechecksunder"Fire
WillNotBurn".
b)thethroatplateisfittedcorrectly
(seeFig.3.)andthatitisnotdistorted.
c)thedoorsealsareingoodcondition.
d)Ifthehotwatergoescoldwhenthe
pumpisturnedon,orifsomeradiators
arehotterthanothers,thenthesystem
mayneedbalancing,thepumpmaybe
pumpingthewatertooquicklyaround
thesystem,ortheradiatorsmayneed
bleeding.Pleaseaskyourinstallerto
checkthesepoints.
Ifthechimneyisthoroughlyand
regularlyswept,chimneyfiresshould
notoccur.However,ifachimneyfire
doesoccurturnthecontrolstothe
minimumsetting,andtightlyclosethe
doorsoftheappliance.Thisshould
causethechimneyfiretogooutin
whichcasethecontrolsshouldbekept
attheminimumsettinguntilthestove
hasgoneout.Thechimneyand
fluewaysshouldthenbecleaned.If
thechimneyfiredoesnotgooutwhen
theaboveactionistakenthenthefire
brigadeshouldbecalledimmediately.
Afterachimneyfirethechimney
shouldbecarefullyexaminedforany
