DESCRIPTION:
10 Year Lithium Power™, Battery Operated, Ionization Smoke Detector.
Contains long-life lithium power cells designed to operate continuously
for 10 years. Detector is sealed to prevent removal of the lithium power
cells, and contains a full function Test button and a Silencer button. After
10 years of service, the unit sounds a 28 day low power signal which
notifies the occupant that the detector must be deactivated and replaced.

SAMPLE SPECIFICATION
The smoke detector shall be powered by non-
replaceable lithium power cell source, sealed within the
detector unit and having a 10 year life. The detector
shall have a dual chamber ionization sensor with a
nominal sensitivity of 1.2% as measured in a UL smoke
box. The detector shall have an activation switch
which activates the power cells at time of installation,
and which precludes the unit from being mounted
unless activated. The unit shall provide a “low power”
alarm, at least 28 days before power is depleted, to
warn the occupant that the detector must be replaced.
A built in test switch shall electronically simulate the
presence of smoke, cause the unit to alarm, and test all
detector functions. The detector shall provide a loud,
audible 85dB alarm at 10 ft., and have a silence
button which quiets the detector when depressed. The
detector shall be capable of being surface mounted.
The detector shall meet UL standards and have a
minimum 10 year limited warranty commencing from
the date of purchase. The detector shall be a BRK
Electronics Cat. No. 4010YR or pre-approved equal.
