Is there an automatic shut-off of the gas when the pilot light goes out after being on a day or two? A licensed contractor says there is, but I don't know whether to believe him; as dangerous as this could be to me, I think even so, that, too, might not work. I inadvertently found this problem when the rooms were found to be extremely cold after being warm for a day or two; I looked and it was out. This happened twice.
