5 I have used Schmetz needles, but really prefer Organ needles. Use 90's for regular fabric and 80' or 70's for lightweight. As to threading the machine, there is a "road map" inside the door covering the loopers.

5 Some of these manuals are available at the Singer sewing machine website. www.singerco.com Select "instruction manuals" from the "what are you looking for?" dropdown box and then enter the model number of your machine. I think you have to put a "W" in front to indicate it is a White. I found mine this way, but it was not a serger. Good luck!

4 Yes, I was told to use Schmetz also, but can't remember how to thread the thing and how to adjust the tension, clean it, etc. HELP please! I don't know what size needles to use either! Can you help me with that? I wrote to the company- I'll see what I get back. I need the manual also please if anyone has one to copy for us.

0 I see some folks need the 534 manual. I have .jpg images of 2 of the 534 variations that I could email you. Let me know which 534 you have. Info is on the plate on back of machine -- e.g. 534-W. Just email me with your request. Batgin@aol.com

0 There is a book called "Know Your White Superlock 534" it is by Naomi Baker. The ISBN is 0-8019-8107-7 (7). You can find it new for under $17.00 ppd. Or $3.95. ppd.used. (!!!!!) The book has 181 pages. IT HAS EVERY THING YOU WILL NEED. The book has 8 chapters, with basics plus 38 lessons. Each lesson has a project, such as appliqued evening bag, Christmas tree ornament, padded picture frame. I use www.bookfinder.com It in most valuable for serger White 534.
