I have a 477. I can't get the needle to go up and down, with the peddle or the hand crank. I bout it at a thrift shop so don't know its history although it looks well taken care of. I have oiled it. I have the owners manual but it doesn't offer a solution. I would like to try to repair myself before giving in and bringing it to a repair person. Thank you for your suggestions!
