I have a whirlpool dehumidifier and the knob came ...

I have a whirlpool dehumidifier and the knob came off. The little screw you put the knob on to turn it on has fallen in....I need to find out if I can open the top somehow and repair it myself? Thank you in advance from Susan Connor
