I've had this model for 7 years and it takes a long time for it to cool my apartment; I have it placed in my living room but I also have another room connected and it doesn't cool 2 rooms off. I placed it in my bathroom and it works good for only 1 room. I decided to clean the filter and I removed the front cover and discover that there was packing foam on the inside of the air conditioner; I would like to know am I suppose to remove the packing foam or is it part of the air conditioner.
