8000btu, it stopped blowing air. it would hum, but...

8000btu, it stopped blowing air. it would hum, but no air was blowing, the fan was not turning. I took it apart yesterday and cleaned it good, and I then just plugged it in and the fan is now working. I dont understand, Do iI need to lube something on the prop shaft ? help me before I put it back together
