I have mistakenly been running the V3100 humidifier without a filter. I dont know if that is the cause, but it isn't working. The fan runs, but the water level stays the same (water isn't used or distributed to the air) after 8 hours of use. Could there be mineral build-up somewhere? Please let me know if I need to clean the machine (and how) or if I just need a filter added
