My fireplace won't turn on. Pilot light is on but switch wont' turn on

5 If the pilot light is on look at the knobs at the base of the unit and look for the one that says "Off-pilot-on" and try Turing the knob to the on position. If that doesn't work, it's a good possibility you need a new valve or a good cleaning. (Spiders sometimes nest in the burner tubes if the unit is off for a long period of time)
