How do I know when the heat strip turns on?

0 the manual makes no mention of when the heat strip comes on nor how the info appears on the thermostat.

0 one serviceman told the owner that the heat strip on condition shows as "heat on" under the heat temperature number. Another said that "Aux" will appear after "heat on" appears. The temperature differential that turns on the heat strip remains a mystery.
