Question About Trane Heat Pump sphc 351
Over heating...

The unit is acting up; the black circular mental thing – (container ) at the bottom gets really hot – the only number on the machine FMA80027. The machine is not taking in any moisture-water; there is nothing from the hose. The dehumidifier has no numbers but it does have the words Danby Millennium. I bought this new, moved so I lent it to my father and now I am back in a house again with a very damp basement. I need the machine to be working. Please help. sr2426@hotmail.com

0 not enough information to say. The unit is a air conditioner or sorts with a compressor, fan motor, condensor and evaporator coil. If the fan is not working replacing might be the problem but you must look at the whole unit. Are the coils clogged, is the compressor itself running,is the evaporator cooling at all? you may have had a refrigerant leak, bad starting component to the compressor etc. Some electric tests should eliminate some of the confusion.
