Purchased a Trane TAYWAR0082 in 2004 and I'm bein...

Purchased a Trane TAYWAR0082 in 2004 and I'm being told today that the evap coil needs replaced and that I have a condenser coil leak... I want to know if that's normal for something 12 years old. Obviously they want to have us replace it - I want to know if it can be repaired and how much would that run and would it last?
