Question About Stanley Black & Decker Garage Door Opener 6500

The opener does not always work when I use any of the remotes, even the one built into my car. If I tap the opener or even shake the door the opener responds to the remote. Is there a mechanical switch in tne opener that responds to the remote signal that is sticking? I do not have a manual to refer to
