Question About Singer Sewing Machine 2662
when i turn the stitch selector the little red ind...

when i turn the stitch selector the little red indicatoor across the top doesnt move.i am tryig to do zig zag stitch. not sure if i havent engaged some other part of the machine.i find this machine to be very confusing and not straightforward at all. or is it broken?

0 when i turn the stitch selector(15) at the side should the red stitch indicator move? can you just tell me the settings i should be usiong for zig zag so i can be sure i am doing th right thing i think the manual is very badly written
