My Inspiration 4207/4212 is no longer making butto...

My Inspiration 4207/4212 is no longer making button holes. It is simply bunching up and not moving. I have tried it on several different thicknesses of material and it doesn't seem to matter. I know all the dials are in the correct location. What could be causing the problem?
