I have just bought a Singer Starlet 287 machine off ebay, and I cannot get it to work. The material hardly feeds through, I have to force it and when it does eventually sew the thread comes out of the needle or I will take the material out and find a huge bunch of material in knots at the back of the material!! Please help! I have been told it will cost me $145 to service, and that is nearly 3 times what I paid for it!
