How to fill the bobbin?

5 Thread the top as you usually would; including the needle. On the left side there's a thumb screw to attach the foot shank with a rubber grommet on it. Bring the thread under the foot (foot up) and wrap it around the thumb screw in the grommet area. Put the bobbin in place with the metal "cone" up. Slide the cover only part way closed until the 2 arrows match up. Make sure the machine is set for a regular straight stitch. Hold the end of the thread (that is wrapped around the screw), and start the machine. It should start winding the bobbin and after a few tuns you no longer need to hold the thread. Continue till bobbin is wound, then unwrap the thread from the screw – it should have broken from the bobbin. You now have a loop from the needle to the bobbin. Pull some excess out and cut. Your bobbin is wound and threaded.
