What screws do I adjust on the bobbin in order to tighten the bobbin thread on this machine. I have viewed the manual and tried to turn several screws on the bobbin case, but have had no luck. The botton thread still looks loose. I am sewing leather products.

0 Depending on your machine type,(some shuttle cannot be removed unless you slacken a retainer flange) you might need to tighten the screw closer to the point where the thread exits the shuttle. Your problem seems to be bits of thread or fluff stuck under the tension spring plate, in which case you need to remove both screws to remove the spring plate and scrape away all foreign material lodged from both surfaces. Be sure to check the length of both screws and replace them in their original position. You can now adjust to the disired tension. GOOD LUCK. Santa_Claus

0 Thanks for your reponse about tension on my Singer 211W155 sewing machine. I have analyzed the top tension after I asked the question and adjusted the top tension and rethreaded the machine. I also oiled and cleaned some parts in the bobbin and front part of the machine and played around with the front tension knobs a bit. Looks like I was in luck and it worked. The older manual for this machine is all that is available and hard to understand. The top thread is balanced with the bottom thread. Thanks for your response and help.
