I don't think my dehumidifier is pulling moisture out of the air. I have a hose attached to it but nothing is coming out yet the basement is quite damp. I can only get the bottom blue light on the left hand side of the control panel to turn on. I can't get it into the mode beside the water droplet icon.

5 This is a problem caused by low air flow through the evaporator. It might not so sound as a major problem due to the easy possibility to solving it yet; where the condition of the dehumidifier fall short of the expectation (not functioning); it should be considered a major problem by nature. The solution comes with the unplugging of the dehumidifier, and removal of the water bucket. Also remove the three screws on each side of the front cover, and clean the evaporator coil carefully, with the aid of a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment. Be cautious of the evaporator coil fins, it might cause harm due its sharpness. Replace the front cover and the water bucket. Carefully test the dehumidifier using the high fan speed with the dryness setting to maximum, after you might have replace the front cover and the water bucket, as these might act as hindrances to effective testing. Keep closer watch over the unit to ascertain the fact that the fan is operating and the compressor is also working. Set the dehumidifier at the ambient temperature of 65 degrees and the relative humidity not to be less than 60% otherwise; the dehumidifier will not remove moisture from the air. Note also that a low refrigerant charge can cause the ineffectiveness of the dehumidifier. Get the service of the Service Technician to help where you are stocked. This will solve the problem accordingly.
