how to remove brush cover to clean...

Aloha- can anyone tell me how to removethe bottom of the unit that holds the brush? I took out all the screws but it will not come free. It seems to be spinning slow due to a string or hair wrapped inside . thank you for any help. primalhawaii@wildblue.net is my email if you can help me out. Again thank you.
