Hi I've had my Infiniti pet pro vacuum for only 4 ...

Hi I've had my Infiniti pet pro vacuum for only 4 years. Recently I pressed the "wand release" button and actually removed the wand and vacuumed just with that. My question is: how do I re-insert it into its original sheath/cannister? It wont go back into place and now I cannot use my vacuum :( Please help Thanks Kelly
