5 Here is a link to your unit. http://www.sharkclean.com/manual/SC505_REV_0103I.pdf You may have to press the trigger first and the turn the cap counterclockwise. The trigger may be acting as a safety so as to not open the cap when fully pressurized. Sometimes these caps can get seized. Hope this is helpful.
