Question About Sears Garage Door Opener 139.53681B
remotes...

I have two of these remotes for the opener only one will program. I have tried programing them at the same time and one at a time and only of them will hold the code.

4 Okay, Craftsman (for some reason) doesn't provide an easily accessible online copy of the manual. I found the provided link on another forum and it provided the solution we needed. Go to pages 35-36 of the manual. You need to follow the instructions for clearing out all codes. Then, I suggest following the set of instructions for programming the remotes via the wall mount, rather than the learn button on the motor. It was much easier. So, after we "cleared all codes" by holding down the learn button for about six seconds, we followed the directions and reprogrammed both remotes individually. It worked great! Then, we followed up by reprogramming the outside keypad. Those directions are on page 36 of the manual. As of right now (knock on wood) everything is working. Good Luck! I know this is an incredibly frusterating thing to deal with! (See attached link for the manual in a pdf file.)
