I have a Sears window AC model 253799186990 which ...

I have a Sears window AC model 253799186990 which will not shut off when the desired temp is reached. I contacted Sears and ordered a control temperature switch but that did not solve the problem. I do not have a wiring diagram so do not know if there is a relay or something that needs to be changed. Help please.
