Thermostat for upstairs heat pump is left at 90 degree setting during summer months. Lately, when I go upstairs and drop setting to say 78 degrees, unit runs for about five minutes, shuts down, then comes on and off for over an hour before desired temperature is reached; it used to take about 20 minutes. Why is unit cycling on and off when it still hasn't reachec the desired temperature?
