Question About RIDGID Vacuum Cleaner WD1200
filters don't fit....

My vac is 8 years old. Manual says to use vf4000 filter. It is about 1/2" longer than the filter that's in it now. When I install the filter and the filter cap, the threaded rod does not stick out far enough to screw the plastic nut on. Has Ridgid made a change in the filter or on newer units?

0 Rigid changed the size of the filter. A new end cap with a different design will solve the problem. See the following URL. Another solution: On my vacuum I was able to turn the domed end cap upside down, squish the filter inward a little bit and get a good seal.
