I haven't used my a-c for a while so thought I'd turn it on to give it a run. However the operating remote control does not seem to work. The screen is blank (apart from a T shape line on the screen) and no buttons work. It is five years old Does it require a battery? I cannot work out how to open it I have two units and both controls are the same. thank you
