Question About Stove Vista 102
New to this wood stove...

I just bought a house from the bank, with this stove. I can figure out the basics but want to know how to adjust the temperature and also, what is the box in the front that holds nothing, but has two handles to open it up? And, is there a window/glass thing that opens anywhere? I read that there is but cannot find it! Thanks!
